Mary J. Randolph Kennedy (N.S.D.A.R) to Margarette Wade McDaniel |
Date |
1958 |
Description |
Letter from Mary J. Randolph Kennedy, Registrar General of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (N.S.D.A.R.) in Washington D.C., to Margarette Wade McDaniel (1892-1973), in Daytona Beach, Florida. The letter was written January 31, 1958. The letter states that Margarette's D.A.R. application listing her revolutionary ancestor as George Wyche [misspelled as Wycke] was verified, and her name would be presented for membership at the February meeting of the National Board. The letter also noted that Margarette listed Patience Clark as George Wyche's wife. However, the N.S.D.A.R. records indicate Wyche's wife was Mary Peterson. Therefore, the N.S.D.A.R. changed Margarette's application to reflect this until she can prove that Patience Clark was the wife of George Wyche. |
