Description |
A Commissary Agent from the Office of the Purchasing Commissary writes a letter to William G. Ponder in Thomasville, GA, November 21, 1963. By the order of Major M.B. Millen, a Commissary Agent from The Office of the Purchasing Commissary writes to William G. Ponder about needing his surplus of hogs for the Confederate Army, and in return, William G. Ponder would receive $45 per hog (with varied prices based on the health conditions of the hogs). The Government required William G. Ponder to hold his hogs until a fair price was negotiated, which he could appeal for if the previously mentioned prices were unsatisfactory. An envelope (1977.19.16A) is included with this letter. |
